The defending champions from China have their first win at the Ford World Women's Curling Championships in Swift Current.

The Chinese team picked up a big 8-2 win over Latvia in eight ends in Draw 6 this morning.  China moves to 1-3, and breaks a puzzling losing streak that started the Championships.

In other morning action, Scotland hammered Japan 11-2 in a game that only took seven ends.  Scottish Skip Eve Muirhead was dominant, curling at 93%, compared to just 41% for Japanese Skip Moe Meguro.  The Scots improve to 3-1.

Russia pounded Denmark 10-4.  That game also ended early, shaking hands after seven ends.  The USA and Germany was the only game in Draw 6 that went the distance, with the Americans winning 12-8.

Over 1,800 fans took in this morning's draw at the Credit Union iplex, pushing total attendance to more than 13,000 people.

Draw 7 goes this afternoon at 1:30pm, with Jennifer Jones and the 3-0 Canadians taking on Latvia, Japan facing Sweden, the USA battling Norway, and Russia squaring off with Switzerland.
