Chinook Golf Course
It's a record breaking start to the season for the Chinook Golf Course.
Golf Pro Ken Koster says they're opening 9 holes today... earlier than ever before.
“Last year we opened 9 holes on April 22nd. I think the record prior to this year...was approximately April 7th or 9th a couple years ago”
Koster says the course is in great condition.
He says they know winter-like conditions could interrupt the fun on Friday and Saturday.
“The big thing is we get a couple of days here before the bad weather hits. We can get the golfers out with the itch and then if it turns to a little bit of snow on Friday and Saturday we look at it more as extra moisture so it's not going to be a big deal.”
They're second local course to open after Sask Landing started up on the weekend.
Elmwood expects to open at least 15 holes by the 13th.
