Our football teams saw lots of action this past week. In 6 man action, Gull Lake travelled to Elrose for pre-season game. The Lions emerged with a lopsided 101-7 victory. In 9 man action, Maple Creek Redmen travelled to Shaunavon and came out with a 39-16 win over the Shadows. In 12 man action, the Swift Current Colts travelled to Moose Jaw to take on Peacock. The Colts were defeated 13-7.

In girls’ soccer, the Swift Current Ardens had a great week. They played two exhibition games in Moose Jaw on Sept. 6 and walked away with 2 victories. Their first league games were held in Moose Jaw on Sept. 10. The Ardens defeated Weyburn by a score of 1-0 and Estevan by 12-0 score. The Ardens first home game is Sept. 13 when they host Moose Jaw Vanier. They also host Moose Jaw Central on Sept. 20 at 4:30 p.m. and then travel to Moose Jaw Peacock on Sept. 22.

Congratulations to Chinook School Division sand green golf winners.  The championships were held in Hodgeville on Monday, Sept. 12.  Frontier won the team title as well as the boys championship - Kadin Hamm and the girls - Cassidy Onerheim.  They will advance to provincials in Bengough on Sept. 23/24.

Our senior volleyball leagues have started. Each week, various schools will host 3-4 teams for round robin action. The girls’ league will run on Tuesday nights with 10 teams taking part – Cabri, Consul, Eastend, Fox Valley, Frontier, Herbert, Maple Creek, Ponteix, Shaunavon, Vanguard.

The senior boys league will run on Wednesday’s. We have 7 teams taking part – Consul, Frontier, Hazlet, Hodgeville, Shaunavon, Swift Current Jr. Colts and Vanguard.
