In senior basketball action, Shaunavon played host to Swift Current Junior Ardens and Colts on Jan. 17. In girls’ action, the hometown Silhouettes edged the Ardens 68-54. Top scorers for Shaunavon included Lacey Pritchard with 19 and Becca Hansen with 14. Replying for the Ardens were Jenna Krahn (17) and Katy Letwiniuk (16). Meanwhile, the Shaunavon Shadows remained undefeated in the boys’ league with a 78-56 decision over the Jr. Colts. Matt Benesh led the Shadows with 36 pts and Dillon Carlson contributed 14. The Colts’ Jordan Bloom had 19 and Matt Bissonnette had 8 pts.

It was the meeting of the two undefeated girls’ teams in the league when Frontier hosted Herbert. The Raiders rolled to their 3rd win of the season when they beat Herbert 61-39. Samantha Glenn had 17 pts while Melissa Peacock added 14 for the Raiders. Herbert’s Miranda Haughian (10) and Rachel Selke (7) replied.

Herbert boys travelled to Gull Lake and came out with a 71-8 victory. Jonathon Miller was high scorer with 14 pts while Kurt Robinson added 12.

There will be no senior games Jan. 24 due to senior exams.
