He says it's an honour and he didn't expect it, but new Indians pitcher Bryson Clark is the opening day starter for the Tribe.

Clark, a native of Missouri, is coming off a successful college season in which he went 7-2 with Pittsburgh State.

"It caught me by surprise, I didn't expect it.  I'm honoured to do it and I'm real excited to get the season underway and see what happens once we start up," commented Clark at last nights final practice before the season opener.

"It's not going to be really anything different since the first time I stepped on the field, it's still the same strategy who have to throw strikes and work ahead in the count."

     Game-time 7:05pm from Mitchell Field.
