Four members of the Swift Current Comprehensive High School Colts Football team are coming home victorious after helping the South Saskatchewan Selects capture the 3rd annual International Pigskin Classic in San Antonio, Texas.
Dalton Christiansen, Matt Hurrell, Zac Nickel and Zach Stenberg were part of the Under-16 team that beat Monterey, Mexico 40-8 in Sunday's final to win the championship. The team went unbeaten through the weekend, and outscored their opponents 94-8 over three games.
Brady Cloutier, Brock Lemay, Preston Slusar and Thomas Munroe from Swift Current were on the Selects' Under-12 team at the event, and Josh Keller was the local player on the Under-14 team.
