The Swift Current Comp Colts soccer team worked a very favourable result to open the 2018 fall season.

The Colts were on the road in Weyburn, and out-scored the Eagles by a combined 14 goals, as they won 10-1 and 9-4.

In the ten-goal opener, Felix Danquah had a team-high four goals.

Also ripping a shot past the Eagles' keeper for single goals were Dilan Vargas, Khalil Fakhar, Joel Reimer, Kai Haubrich, London Duncan, and Jared Steinley.

Meanwhile in the 9-4 victory, Danquah led the way again with five goals. Vargas, Fakhar, Damon Koebel, and Jaedan Carefoot added goals.

"It was a good opportunity to see how the rookies would adapt to this level of play," said Colts head coach Chris Garner. "I think there are some fundamentals we need to focus on through the season but overall, the boys demonstrated that they are well equipped and dedicated to defending our title."

Carefoot and Vargas served as acting captains for the Colts, who head to Moose Jaw on September 13 for a match up against the Moose Jaw Central Cyclones.
