In the last tournament of the regular season, the Swift Current Comp Colts senior boys' volleyball team got off to a rare slow start in Regina this past weekend.

The Colts finished round robin play with a pair of losses on their resume against Winnipeg's Linden Christian School and fellow Winnipeg school River East Collegiate.

Swift Current finally found their stride in the playoff round on Saturday with a quarter-final win over Brandon's Vincent Massey High School.

Then in a round robin rematch against Linden Christian School, the Colts managed to get the semi final W this time around to advance to yet another tournament final.

Swift Current claimed gold in the final after toppling the hometown team, Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School - the win marks their second straight season as provincial capital tournament's top team.

The win also made it three straight tournament wins for the Colts, after the previous two weekends were spent victorious in Moose Jaw and Prince Albert.

Swift Current now has a weekend off before hosting the South Regional Championship at SCCHS looking to advance to Provincials in Meadow Lake the following weekend.
