The 2010 Ford World Women's Curling Championships will make life difficult on the Broncos.  City Council has now weighed in on the hot topic.

Councillor Jerrod Schafer, who is also on the Broncos Board of Directors addressed the issue last night in Council Chambers.  He was asked about the lack of communication in the process as stated earlier by the Broncos and if a solution can be reached.

"We actually informed the Broncos that this was a possibility back in July when the City was first approached that we were being considered for the event.

We've had some dialogue over the summer until the point it was actually confirmed and the fact they would have to look at another arena of some sort for their games. Whether it was Moose Jaw, Prince Albert or Saskatoon I guess it would be our hope the league would allow that and other community owned teams would consider something like that as long as it didn't conflict (with their playoff schedule).

We're hearing some word that possible destinations might be as far away as British Columbia.  It's our hope that we can reach a much more sensible solution than that."

The 2010 World Championships will take the Broncos out of the I-plex for up to four home playoff games next season.
