The Swift Current Broncos are hoping to keep their strong week rolling tonight when they host a very tough Spokane Chiefs club.

The Broncos swept a home and home with Brandon by a combined score of 10-4.

"Burying on our chances was huge," said forward Josh Derko. "In the games we were losing we were playing well but we weren't scoring and I think that was the difference. We didn't change the way we played much, we were just capitalizing on our chances and that was huge."

Derko feels like he has been creating more scoring chances this season.

"I mean I have come a long way in that department and I think it shows with the amount of opportunities we are getting and the amount of ice time I am getting as well."

Derko has ten points so far this season, three off of his career high.

The gritty two-way forward also has four points in his last six games.

"A lot of it is just a confidence thing. The last two years i haven't been scoring a lot," added Derko. "Not just throwing pucks on net but taking the time to pick corners and burying my opportunities."

You can hear tonight's game against Spokane on The Eagle 94.1 with The New Pioneer Co-op Home Centre Broncos Hockey at 6:30pm.
