The Swift Current 57's stayed in rhythm despite a lengthy rain delay in Weyburn last night, downing the Eastern division-leading Beavers 7-4 to snap a five-game losing streak.

The 57's and Beavers were tied 3-3 in the second inning when the rain hit - the 57's drove in the trio of runs in the top of the second courtesy of a Ben Komonosky two-run homer and a Ryan Gross sacrifice fly.

Coming out of the rain delay, the 57's put a pair of runs on the board off the bat of Jerad Dokey. The second baseman drove in Blake Adams and Myles Miller to take the 5-3 lead.

Dokey struck again in the fifth inning to extend the lead for the 57's - he ripped a double to center field, scoring Bo McClintock and Miller.

Weyburn added a run on an error in the home half of the sixth inning but the 57's bullpen shut down the Beavers' bats, not surrendering a hit over the final four innings.

Brock Gilliam picked up the win for Swift Current, pitching four innings of three-run ball on five hits, while striking out four.

In the bullpen-dominant game, Aaron Pugh was the lone reliever to surrender a hit although he, Jack Ferguson, Tommy Steier, Spencer Koelewyn, and Nick Hooper all pitched scoreless innings.

Hooper picked up the save, lowering his ERA to a stellar 1.53 on the season.

Meanwhile Dokey finished the game going 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI at the plate. Miller added three hits and a walk, touching home three times in the contest.

The 57's are next in action at home on Wednesday against the Moose Jaw Miller Express.
