Former Bronco Captain Cody Eakin and the Dallas Stars are on the brink of elimination from the NHL Playoffs.
 
Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry both had three-point nights as the Anaheim Ducks routed the Stars 6-2 to take a 3-2 lead in their series.
 
The Ducks can clinch a spot in the second round Sunday night in Dallas.
 
The Chicago Blackhawks are also a win away from the next round. Jonathan Toews scored in overtime to lift the Blackhawks to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Blues for their third-straight win of the series, and a 3-2 lead with game six set for Sunday in the Windy City.
 
Meanwhile, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the New York Rangers 2-1 to tie their series up at a game apiece. Game five is also Sunday in Manhattan.
 
There are four playoff games on tap for Saturday. Aneroid’s Patrick Marleau and the San Jose Sharks will try again to eliminate the LA Kings when they host game five tonight (8:00pm, CBC), and the Boston Bruins can move on to the next round to face Montreal with a win over Detroit this afternoon (1:00pm, TSN).
 
In other action, Columbus heads to Pittsburgh (5:00pm, CBC) and Colorado hosts Minnesota (7:30, TSN) with both of those series tied at two games apiece.
 
In the WHL playoffs, the Portland Winterhawks have advanced to the Ed Chynoweth Cup final. Brendan Leipsic had two goals as the Winterhawks beat Kelowna 7-3 to eliminate the Rockets in five games and move on to the final for the fourth-straight season.
 
They await the winner of the Eastern Conference Final between Edmonton and Medicine Hat. The Oil Kings lead the series 3-1 with game five set for Saturday at Rexall Place.
