Former Swift Current Broncos captain Cody Eakin's playoff run ended in heartbreaking fashion.

He had a goal and an assist for the Dallas Stars who built a 4-2 lead over Anaheim, but the Ducks rallied with two goals from Nick Bonino and Devante Smith-Pelley in the final three minutes to tie. Bonino scored in OT to lift the Ducks 5-4 win and eliminate the Stars in six games.

Eakin wrapped up the post-season with the first two playoff goals of his NHL career and three helpers.

Up next for the Ducks is either LA or San Jose. Aneroid's Patrick Marleau and the Sharks are up 3-2 in that series with game six tonight at SAP Center (8:00pm, CBC).

The defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks are also off to the second round after they rolled past St. Louis 5-1 to eliminate the Blues in six games. Duncan Keith had a goal and three assists and former Bronco Michal Rosival had an assist to bring his playoff point total to three.

The Hawks will play either Colorado or Minnesota in the next round. The Avalanche lead the series 3-2 with game six also tonight in St. Paul (7:00pm, TSN).

Also, Henrik Lundqvist made 24 saves as the New York Rangers downed the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 to take a 3-2 series lead. Game six is tomorrow in the City of Brotherly Love.

The third playoff game tonight has the Pittsburgh Penguins looking to eliminate the Blue Jackets with a win tonight in Columbus (5:00pm, CBC).

Over the weekend, the Boston Bruins moved on to round two with a 4-2 win over Detroit Saturday to eliminate the Red Wings in five games. The Bruins will now face the Montreal Canadiens in the 34th playoff meeting between the Original Six rivals.

Stewart Valley's Travis Moen may be set to return to the lineup for the Habs after being out since late-March with a concussion. He was on the fourth practice line on Sunday alongside Daniel Briere and former Bronco Dale Weise.

The NHL is expected to release the second round schedule today.
