Facing a must win situation last night, Swift Current's Kelsey Dutton was unable to pull through at the 2016 Viterra Scotties in Prince Albert.

After starting the provincial with two straight wins, Dutton dropped back-to-back games, meaning she needed to beat Moose Jaw's Penny Barker last night and get a few other games to break her away in order to qualify for a tie-breaker.

However, there was no scoreboard watching to be done, as Barker defeated Dutton 10-1.

Trailing 3-1 after the 3rd, Dutton had hammer looking to even the score or perhaps take the lead, but the game did not go her way.

In the 4th, Dutton gave up a steal of 1, before the same result occurred two more times in the 5th and 6th ends, extending the Barker lead to 6-1.

Then in the 7th, Barker stole 4 more points, leading the Dutton team to concede the game and their provincial run.

Round Robin play at the Viterra Scotties will wrap up this morning with a couple of key games.

Stefanie Lawton (4-0) will take on Jolene Campbell (4-0) with the winner of that game clinching Pool 'A' and a spot in the 1vs2 Page Playoff game against Robyn Silvernagle (4-0).

The lose of the Lawton/Campbell game will fall to the 3vs4 game.

With Silvernagle already locking up the top seed in Pool 'B' the situation is pretty simple.

If Michelle Englot (3-1) defeats Sherry Anderson (2-2) this morning, Englot will clinch a berth in the 3vs4 game.

However, if Anderson defeats Englot, there will be at least one tie-breaker game.

There could be as many as two tie-breaker games in Pool 'B' if Englot loses, as a Penny Barker (2-2) victory this morning over Silvernagle would put Barker into the tie-breaker scenario as well.
