Former Broncos Captain Cody Eakin is on the move.

He was traded as part of the action Friday night at the NHL Draft in Pittsburgh.

Eakin and a 2nd round draft pick head from the Washington Capitals to Dallas for Mike Ribeiro.

Eakin appeared in 30 games for the Capitals during his rookie campaign, collecting four goals and four assists.

In 43 regular-season games with Hershey of the American Hockey League, Eakin tallied 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists).

He was drafted by Washington in the third round (85th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Edmonton Oilers drafted Russian forward Nail Yakupov with the first pick in the NHL draft.

White City's Ryan Murray of Everett in the WHL went second to Columbus.
