It was a packed house and another exciting night of curling at the SaskPower Scotties in Swift Current.

Last night in the B event semi-finals, Amber Holland defeated Sherry Anderson 8-4 in nine ends. Holland says the team was able to keep control of the game, despite a late comeback by Anderson.

The other B event game had defending champion Michelle Englot beating Rene Miettinen 8-6 in extra ends in a game that was probably the most exciting so far in the championships.  Englot's Third Deanna Doig helped propel her team to the win with an outstanding takeout through a narrow port in the extra end.  Englot said after the game that she is happy that the repeat bid is still alive, after a slow start in the first game.  She adds that the team is playing much better now, and is getting used to the ice.

There was also another capacity crowd at the Curling Club, continuing with the excellent attendance numbers this weekend.  The Curling Club says event passes have sold out, and only 200 walk-up single-draw tickets are available at the Credit Union iplex 90 minutes before each draw.

Today's action sees Englot and Holland play in the B final this morning.  Anderson takes on Ros Stewart; Miettinen faces Cathy Trowell; and Chantelle Eberle plays Jolene Mcivor in C event action.

The day ends with the page playoffs tonight at 7:00pm.
