The Earl Monkman Memorial Boxing Card lived up to the hype on Saturday night at Mitchell Field.

Six fights filled the card, with boxers represented from Swift Current, Shaunavon, Leader, Regina, and North Battleford.

Ranging from 28 kg to 97 kg weight classes, the boxers, ranging from 8 to 40 years old all performed well in the cool conditions.

In the first bout, Lloydminster's Sydney Collinge and Leader's Abigail Blomn faced off in the 28 kg class.

The second, Mohammad Faison-Farooq Dar of Lloydminster and Jaxson Williams of Swift Current continued the fury of fists in the 36 kg class.

Rounding out the first set, Quasim Mirza of Regina and Riley Hnatiu of North Battleford got the crowd into it with three rounds in the 54 kg class, with Mirza getting the win.

After an intermission, the heavyweight bouts got underway, the first of which was an all-Swift match up.

97 kg fighters Dustin Auseth and Vic-tory Boxing Club coach Nick Habcheid went the distance in the fourth bout.

18-year-old Emile Smith of Lloydminster, named Boxer of the Night, and 40-year-old Jesse Kitchen of Swift Current squared off in a heavy-hitting 81 kg bout, with Smith taking the win.

The final fight saw a second 97 kg fight, this time between Adam Toto of Regina and Dakota Mcfadyen of Shaunavon. A barrage of heavy punches by Toto gave him the win.

A partnership between the Swift Current 57's and Vic-tory Boxing Club, the 57's expressed interest in hosting the outdoor event again.
