Kristian Ferletak playing for Slovakia internationally

Kristian Ferletak made his debut with the Swift Current Broncos in Saturday's game against Moose Jaw.

The 18-year-old Slovakian forward was claimed by the Broncos after Victoria put him on import waivers last week. Ferletak has yet to find the scoresheet after eight games in his WHL career, but says he would like to contribute more offense while bringing a gritty, physical presence to the rink.

He adds he feels he's well-suited for the North American game.

"In Europe, it's a different style of hockey, but here, I like it" Ferletak said. "There's a lot of skating and it's a simple game, like go straight on the net."

Ferletak has represented Slovakia in a number of international tournaments, including the World Under-18 and World Junior Championships.

He and the Broncos return to action Wednesday night when they host the Portland Winterhawks.
