A sold out crowd packed the Legion Hall for the Annual Swift Current Indians Field of Dreams Sports Dinner.

Special guest speakers for the evening were Saskatchewan Roughriders' Running Back Chris Szarka, and former NHL player Darryl Sittler.

Szarka, a fan favourite for the Riders, says he enjoys coming to these local events, acknowledging the fans who drive from the southwest to attend Rider home games.  He adds that it's always nice to get out and meet the fans away from the field.

Sittler, who is best remembered for his record 10-point night for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1976, says he likes touring the country and checking up on his fans, especially those in smaller communities.  He enjoys signing autographs and hearing stories from the people who watched his games.

The event raises money for the Swift Current Indians Baseball Club for their annual operations, and pays for the installation of the lights at Mitchell Field.
