It will be a fresh start for Max Lajoie as he enters his fourth professional hockey season.

Earlier today the former Swift Current Broncos defenceman was traded by the Ottawa Senators to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Clark Bishop.

Just three days ago Lajoie was waived by the Senators as he didn't make the club's opening night roster and he cleared waivers on Sunday allowing them to assign him to their AHL team the Belleville Senators.

The transaction will move him from one minor league farm system to another, as he will join the Chicago Wolves with the target start date for the AHL to begin their regular season on February 5.

The Quebec City product played 203 regular-season games with Swift Current between 2013-14 and 2016-17 recording 120 points in the process.

He was a fifth-round draft pick in 2016 by Ottawa and had since compiled 33 points in 107 AHL games, with 15 points in 62 NHL games.
