Two big pieces from the Swift Current Broncos roster last year that helped the WHL club claim the Ed Chynoweth Cup will start their professional hockey careers in the ECHL.

The Colorado Avalanche have assigned Josh Anderson to the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL to begin the year.

The rugged defender played in 55 games with the Broncos last year after coming over in a trade from the Prince George Cougars.

And netminder Stuart Skinner was assigned from the AHL's Bakersfield Condors to the ECHL's Wichita Thunder.

He backstopped the Broncos for 51 games last year after being acquired from the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the trade deadline.
