Former Swift Current Diamond Energy Wildcat Baylee Gillanders and the University of Minnesota Gophers are NCAA female hockey champions after a 4-2 win over Wisconsin yesterday.
It's the third championship in university history, but the first one since 2005 and the first for Gillanders.
The Kyle product had an assist in the championship game.
