The Fox Valley Legends are provincial high school girls volleyball champions again.

They won the 2A girls provincial tournament in Langham this weekend, where they went unbeaten in round-robin with wins over Edam, Langham, Strasbourg and Meath Park, then went on to beat Wilkie in the quarterfinal and Montmartre in the semi-final. They then defeated Hepburn in the final in straight sets to win their second-straight provincial gold medal.

The Fox Valley Legends boys volleyball team won the 1A west regional tournament in Frontier, where they beat the hosts in the final in straight sets. Both Fox Valley and Frontier advance to provincials next weekend in Mossbank.

Other high school volleyball action had the Swift Current Comprehensive High School Colts losing all four of their matches at 5A boys provincials in Saskatoon, and missing the playoffs.

The Shaunavon Shadows went to Moose Jaw for the 4A boys regional tournament, but missed the playoffs after losing all three of their matches. The Shadows will still have a shot at a provincial championship as they will host the 4A Boys provincial tournament next weekend. Action goes at the Shaunavon and Eastend High Schools on Friday and Saturday.
