Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to announce that linebacker Jerrell Freeman has been chosen to the CFL All-Star team. The All-Stars were selected by voting members of the Football Reporters of Canada (FRC), CFL head coaches and CFL fans from across the country.

Freeman just completed his third season with the Riders and finished the regular season with a league leading 105 defensive tackles. In addition the 25-year-old tallied a team leading six quarterback sacks, four forced fumbles, three interceptions, two tackles for a loss, two pass knockdowns and one fumble recovery.

Throughout the season Freeman was a dominant force on the Rider defence and his efforts were recognized by being named both Defensive Player of the Month and Defensive Player of the Week once this season. He is also the West Division Finalist for Defensive Player of the Year. This is Freeman’s first CFL All-Star nomination after being named a West Division All-Star last week.
