Elmwood Golf Club in Swift Current

Broncos' Alumni are lining up to come back for the WW Smith Golf Classic in July.

For the first time in several years, former goalie Terry Friesen is returning to Swift Current from his Fresno, California home.

"It's been on my calendar for a lot of years," explains Friesen. "I decided you've just got to do it, book it, make it happen and quit making excuses. So, this is the year I said 'let's do it'. We'll make the trip back, so I'm excited."

Friesen played three seasons and 149 games as a Bronco from 1995 to 1998, and says he really enjoyed it.

"From the office staff to the radio broadcasters to the training staff, coaches and players - it was a good time," says Friesen. "I loved the little community; it really creates for a tight knit group. Today, it's still one of the tightest teams I've played with."

During that time he played with Michal Rozsival and Friesen says he's cheering on his former teammate on his NHL playoff run with Phoenix.

"My TV is on every night and absolutely cheering on Rozsival," says Friesen. "A few of the other guys I played with are still out there playing. It's great to see what they're doing in Phoenix. I hope they can make that situation work. It's great for Micheal to be in that position again."

He'll join players from all-time leading scorer Todd Holt to recent graduate Justin Dowling at the tournament at Elmwood.
