Swift Current Broncos captain Glenn Gawdin has been named the WHL Player of the Week, not long after being named the league's playoff MVP and hoisting the Ed Chynoweth Cup as a WHL Champion.

Gawdin posted five goals and one assist in four games last week, three of which were wins for the Broncos.

Overall through 26 playoff games, the product of Richmond, BC posted 32 points (14 G, 18 A), which was a team high.

Gawdin and the Broncos will next be in the provincial capital for the 100th Memorial Cup.

Game 1 for Swift Current is Saturday at 2 p.m. against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at the Brandt Centre in Regina.
