Former Swift Current Bronco Captain Glenn Gawdin has his first NHL point.

Taking to the ice on Sunday with his Calgary Flames, Gawdin got the second assist on a Michael Stone goal in the second period.

It was one of many goals in a 6 - 1 dismantling of the Ottawa Senators to keep Calgary's slim playoff hopes alive.

The B.C. native, who captained the Broncos to the Ed Chynoweth Cup in 2018, had a shot on goal and a pair of hits in just over 11 minutes of ice time along with his assist and went 6 of 9 in the faceoff circle.

Gawdin's and the Flames are still technically in the playoff race.  However, a number of things have to go right.  In order to make the playoffs, they would have to win their remaining four regular-season games, while Montreal Canadians, who they are chasing for the final spot, would need to lose their remaining two in regulation.

A Canadiens win, or a loss in regulation would extinguish the Flames' season.
