As the Swift Current Broncos get set to host the Eastern Conference-leading Brandon Wheat Kings tonight, Coda Gordon will attempt to extend his WHL-best consecutive point streak to fifteen games.

Gordon has 17 points over the last 14 games as he continues to sit among the top scorers in the league.

"I think I'm just trying to work hard and be consistent every game, and so far that seems to be working," he said. "I've been getting lucky a couple of times here and there, and my linemates have been helping me out in that sense. The biggest thing for me is just keeping it simple and playing my game."

But it's the defensive side of the game where the veteran feels he has made his biggest strides.

"The biggest part of the game that I needed to work on for my first two years was to be more responsible in the D-zone," Gordon added. "Being able to penalty kill has been the biggest improvement, also, and it's led to more chances in the offensive zone, too."

The Broncos have lost twice to a very deep Brandon club already this season, but Swift Current has points in nine of their last 10 games. They're also coming off a 2-1 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds on Sunday.
