The Assiniboia Southern Aces earned a silver medal at 13U AA Tier 2 provincials in Meadow Lake.

Assiniboia went 1-2 in their round robin games. They suffered a 7-4 loss to the Meadow Lake Sox, won 11-4 over the Northeast Wolfpack, then lost 7-6 to the Esterhazy Cyclones.

Advancing to the provincial semi finals on run differential, Assiniboia then shut out the Prince Albert Royals 5-0 to move to the gold medal game.

There, it was a rematch with the host Meadow Lake Sox. The Assiniboia 13U Southern Aces lost 14-6 to take second place.


The Gull Lake 18U Greyhounds came one win short of a chance to play for a provincial title over the weekend in Moosomin.

At 18U AA Tier 5 provincials, Gull Lake won two of three robin games with an 8-3 win over the Watrous Lakers, a 9-7 loss to the Yorkton Cardinals, and a 7-5 win over the Saskatoon Walk Off A's.

Earning a trip right to the provincial semis, the 18U AA Greyhounds again lost 9-7, this time to the Saskatoon Bad News A's.


Gull Lake's 13U Greyhounds squad was also battling at provincials, though at the 13U AA Tier 6 bracket in Saltcoats.

The 13U AA Greyhounds found themselves in three neck-and-neck contests, but only managed one win, falling short of a spot in the playoffs.

Gull Lake lost 11-10 to the Lloydminster Twins and 13-9 to the Humboldt Dodgers.

Their lone win of pool play was a 12-11 victory over the Wawota Pats.


The Eston 13U Ramblers were competing at 13U AA Tier 5 provincials in Moosomin this past weekend.

No game was too much of a thriller over four contests for the 13U Ramblers.

In the round robin, they earned an 11-1 win over the Maidstone Lakers and 14-8 win over the Moosomin Rangers, falling 11-1 to the Watrous Lakers.

In a tie-breaker game against Moosomin with a spot in the provincial semis on the line, the host Rangers upended Gull Lake 25-13.
