The Gull Lake Pee Wee girls pulled off their own version of the championship double dip.

After winning a second consecutive "B" provincial crown, Gull Lake swept the Eatonia, Eston, Elrose club 5-2 and 5-0 to win their league championship.

They still have more hockey to go with the March Ice tournament in Saskatoon at the end of the month.

Here is a report on the league final from one of the parents:
"The very well attended first game, of the best of three, was played in Gull Lake on March 10th with a final  score of 5-2 for the Greyhounds over the Triple E Huskies (Eatonia, Eston, Elrose). Goal scoring was as follows: Taylor Kirwan - unassisted, Dayna Winzer - assisted by Morgan Reznechenko, Laura Fiddler - assisted by Chelsea Wilson and Courtney Bredahl, Taylor Kirwan - unassisted & Morgan Reznechenko - assisted by Dayna Winzer and Taylor Kirwan.

Then Sunday March 11th the Greyhounds travelled to Eatonia and once again came out on top 5-0.  Dayna Winzer put a natural hat trick of 3 goals on the board with assists from Shae-Lynn Bauer, Morgan Reznechenko & Mardi Yarshenko, followed by a goal from Tinia Mosquito, assisted by Taylor Kirwan,  then another goal from Winzer, assisted by Reece Girodat. Keara Zoerb recorded the shut out in net for the Greyhounds."

 In other local female hockey, the Swift Current Midget AA Titans host Weyburn Wednesday night at 7:15 at the Fairvew West Arena.

It's the second and deciding game of their playoff series.

Weyburn leads the total point series by a goal.
