Chris Haddeland started and finished the game last night with a 2-hit shut-out as the Swift Current Indians beat Yorkton 3-0 last night.

"I felt good, everything was kind of working for me today," said Haddeland after the game, "I was throwing strikes and getting ground balls, and our defense was playing really well behind me."

Haddeland added he really got in the zone during the game.

"I felt pretty locked in especially through those middle innings, and once the hit happened I was kind of relieved almost, and then once the hit happened I was kind of relieved almost, but I wasn't too focused on that, and then going out there we had the lead at that point so I wasn't too worried, just about getting strikes and getting outs."

Haddeland only threw 96 pitches as he led the Indians to their 7th straight win.

That includes a sweep of both games in Okotoks on Friday and Saturday. The Indians face another tough test tonight when they host the WMBL leading Medicine Hat Mavericks.

We'll have the game on The Eagle 94.1 starting at 6:50 with our pre-game  show.

First pitch is 7:05 at Mitchell Field.

Meanwhile, the Mosquito AA Indians took home the provincial title beating Weyburn 11-2 in the final in Martensville over the weekend.

The Bantam Indians also had a good provincial run in the Battleford over the weekend, making it all the way to the finals only to be defeated by Muenster.  They get ready to head to Regina for the AAA league finals this weekend.

The PeeWee Indians were in Yorkton on the weekend for provincials as well, but their weekend didn't go as well as the others.  They lost their final round robin game to Lloydminster to be eliminated from the tournament. They now turn their focus to Western Canadian finals, which goes in Swift Current in August.
