Now-former Swift Current Comp Senior Ardens soccer standout Lauryn Hayes is already making her presence felt on the University of Regina Cougars women's soccer team in her rookie season.

Hayes scored the lone goal in a 1-0 preseason win against Minot State. It was the only win of a four-game set with the American college, as the Cougars worked a 1-1-2 record.

The Swift Current product wrapped up her high school career last fall earning a provincial silver medal with the Ardens. Hayes scored 41 goals in the Moose Jaw High School Girls' Soccer League from 2014-17, a mark good for fifth all-time.

Hayes and the Cougars play a preseason tournament starting Friday in Lethbridge, before opening the Canada West regular season schedule September 8 at home against the University of Manitoba Bisons.
