The Swift Current Broncos built a 4-1 lead over the red-hot Brandon Wheat Kings, but it wasn't enough.

For the fifth time this season, the Brandon Wheat Kings posted a win over the Broncos on a night where the Broncos appeared to be in control.

After building a 4-1 lead in the second period, the Wheat Kings closed the gap to 4-2 after two periods.  Brandon then surged in the third period, scoring three times in just over four minutes to take their first lead of the game.

Trailing 5-4, the Broncos pressed in the final minute, but couldn't get the tying goal as Brandon held on for the win to run their point streak to 14-straight games.

Geordie Wudrick, Matt Tassone, and newcomers Michael Stickland, and John Negrin scored in the loss.  Brandon outshot the Broncos 42-33.

The Broncos host division-leading Saskatoon on Friday night.
