The Diamond Energy Wildcats fell short in their bid for the Female Midget League title last night, losing the fifth and deciding game 4-1 at home to the Prince Albert Bears.

The Wildcats held a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five series, but suffered three-straight losses to allow Prince Albert to come back from the straglehold.

Head Coach Terry Pavely says the Bears were riding the momentum of their Game 3 comeback win, and says the Wildcats felt the pressure to play well a lot more than their opposition over the last three games.

The Wildcats' season is over, as they finish as league runners-up for the third-straight time.

The Bears now take on the Manitoba champion Westman Wildcats for a spot in the National championship.
