It's starting to get a bit nasty between the Swift Current Indians and Regina Red Sox.

Last night's 6-2 Indians win over Regina at Mitchell Field was perhaps a bit overshadowed by some exchanges between the two teams.

Regina took exception to some hard plays on the base paths from Brennan Peterson.  Peterson was later thrown at by Regina pitching.  P David Henrie was later ejected in the game for hitting the Indians' Taylor Hunter.  The two teams exchanged some words on a couple of occasions.

The actions had Indians Coach Joe Carnahan fired up.  "It's just common sense and common knowledge that, if you have a problem with someone, you don't throw at their heads.  That's

ridiculous, it's uncalled for.  There's no place for it.  That's been their M.O. for awhile now, and they brought it to the field here.  It's not going to be tolerated."

Indians Right Fielder Brennan Peterson says he's just trying to play the game hard, the way he always does.  "I'm just trying to play the game, as hard as I can.  I want to go out and battle.  If they think there's something wrong with that, then that's their opinion.  I'm just trying to play the game hard, and in the right way."

Adam Dunsmore was 4-4 at the plate, while Brady Hohl hit a key two-run double in the 5th inning that put the Indians up for good.  Starting Pitcher Jason Oatman pitched seven innings, allowing two runs and striking out seven for the win.

The Indians improve to 13-3, and have now built a commanding eight-game lead atop the Central Division.

Tonight, the Indians host Medicine Hat at Mitchell Field at 7:05pm.
