Swift Current Broncos defenceman Dillon Heatherington helped Team Canada to a 5-2 win over Sweden during pre-tournament play at the World Junior Hockey Championship on Sunday.

Heatherington is wearing #3 for Canada and officially made the team on Friday. He is one of five Western Hockey League defencemen playing for the Canadian squad.

Five different players scored for Canada in the win over Sweden.

Joe Hicketts, Anthony Duclair and Max Domi all had two points.

Canada is back in action against Switzerland on Tuesday. They start the tournament itself on Boxing Day.

The Broncos are in the midst of their holiday break and will return to action without Heatherington on December 27th.
