Swift Current Broncos defenceman Dillon Heatherington and Team Canada are golden.

They beat the United-States 3-2 to win the gold medal at the IIHF World Under-18 Hockey Championship.

The victory ended the streak of four straight gold medals for the Americans.

Heatherington played 24:03 in the championship game and finished +1.

That was the second most ice time among Canadian defencemen.

Canada didn't lose a single game in the tournament.

The team also included Morgan Klimchuk of the Regina Pats and Josh Morrissey of the Prince Albert Raiders.

Vancouver Giants Coach Don Hay was Canada's bench boss.
