Thomas Heemskerk stole one for the Warriors last night as the Moose Jaw netminder made 53 saves in their 4-3 win over the Broncos.

Cody Beach and Antonin Honejsek gave the Warriors an early 2-0 lead.

Taylor Vause replied for Swift Current early in the second frame with a knuckle puck that finally fooled Heemskerk on the 21st Bronco shot of the game.

Quinton Howden and Jordan Peddle then traded goals as Moose Jaw took a 3-2 lead through 40 minutes.

Peddle's shot block early in third period wound up right on the stick of Dylan Hood. The Warriors veteran snapped the puck to the top corner to give Moose Jaw some insurance.

Swift Current fired 22 more shots on goal in the final frame and were rewarded with time ticking away.

Dowling's goal cut the Moose Jaw lead to 4-3, but that's as close as the Broncos would get.

The Warriors had the edge on special teams as they went 2 for 6 on the man advantage while shutting down the Broncso power play.

Swift Current also lost defenseman Kyle Verdino and forward Christian Magnus to injury.

The Broncos will attempt to halt their four game losing skid when they visit the league leading Saskatoon Blades on Friday.
