Swift Current's own Finnish Flash has found himself as the latest Broncos player to grab a CHL weekly award.

In two wins last weekend, Aleksi Heponiemi score two goals and added seven assists, and in the process was named the CHL Player of the Week for Week 8.

He joins Tyler Steenbergen from Week 2, and Logan Flodell from Week 4 who both received the National Player of the week and goalie of the week respectively this season.

Heponiemi (14 G, 32 A) and Steenbergen (26 G, 20 A) are tied atop both the WHL and CHL in scoring with 46 points through 17 games, while line-mate and team captain Glenn Gawdin is third in the WHL with 38 (14 G, 24 A).

The Broncos (13-3-1-0) host the Moose Jaw Warriors (15-4-0-0) tonight in a battle of the top two teams in the Eastern Division.

You can hear the game on The Eagle 94.1 with Robertson Family Group Broncos Hockey at 6:30 p.m. Puck drop is just after 7 p.m. at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex.
