Jackson Houck scored three times on the power play as the Calgary Hitmen beat the Swift Current Broncos 6-2 tonight.

Calgary's power play was the story as they struck four times and the Broncos spent too much time in the penalty box.

There wasn't much scoring in the early going. Houck's first goal 3:20 into the game stood up until midway through the second period.

Jamal Watson tied it at 12:17 of the second as he converted a nice pass by Brandan Arnold while going hard to the net. Watson now has four points in four games with the Broncos.

Calgary quickly responded to Swift Current's goal with two quick ones by Jordy Stallard at even strength and another Houck power play goal.

The Hitmen then pulled away in the third period.

Max Lajoie had Swift Current's only other goal on a late power play opportunity as Swift Current went 1 for 4.

Travis Child made 33 saves as he held his team in the game early before losing steam in the third period.

Despite the loss the Broncos managed six of a possible eight points in four straight games against Calgary and Red Deer. They beat the Hitmen 7-4 on home ice and had two wins over the Rebels before tonight's loss in Calgary.

Lane Pederson missed tonight's game due to a one game suspension for boarding major on Friday in Red Deer.

Swift Current is still ten points behind Edmonton for the final playoff spot in the WHL Eastern Conference.

They're back home to play Prince George on Friday.
