Swift Current Broncos rookie defenceman Julius Honka is suiting up for Team Finland at the World Junior Hockey Championships in Malmo, Sweden.
The Finns beat Norway 5-1 in their first game of the tournament this morning. Finland returns to action tomorrow when they take on the hosts from Sweden (9:00pm, TSN2).
Canada started off the tournament Thursday with a 7-2 win over Germany on the strength of a hat trick from Val d'Or forward Anthony Mantha. Canada resumes action Saturday against the Czech Republic (10:00am, TSN).
Canada also has a day off at the Spengler Cup in Switzerland. They beat Czech club team HC Vitkovice Steel 5-4 in the opener and play HC Davos Saturday.
