Swift Current Broncos defenceman Julius Honka made his NHL pre-season debut Monday night as the Dallas Stars beat the St. Louis Blues 4-3.

Honka, a first-round selection for the Stars in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, didn't get on the scoresheet but registered 20:41 of ice time on the team's second defensive pairing.

The Stars play their next pre-season game Friday against Florida.

Also, Former Bronco Captain Adam Lowry was in the lineup for the Winnipeg Jets, and was the game's third star in a 2-1 win over the Minnesota Wild. Lowry, a 2011 3rd-round draft pick by the Jets, played last season with the St. John's Ice Caps, who made the AHL's Calder Cup Final last season.

Pre-season action tonight has the Columbus Blue Jackets taking on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Broncos defenceman Dillon Heatherington is at the Blue Jackets' training camp, and scored the overtime winner in their first pre-season game Sunday against the Blues.
