The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes will begin their fall camp tomorrow.

Coming off of a season that saw the team finish 2nd at provincials, the Hurricanes will look for some new faces to step up, as according to Head Coach Roland Tancowny, the team experienced quite a bit of turnover this off-season.

"We have no returning goalies, so whoever is the goalie on this team will be a rookie to this league so that will be a big learning curve for the goaltenders, adjusting to the speed and quality of shots in this league. We also only have two returning defencemen, so basically the whole back end is going to be brand new," he said.

Regardless of who is on the team though, the goal remains the same for Tancowny.

"My goal is to win league, that's my goal at the start of every season. In order to win provincials, we have to win the league, the way they changed the format this year. However, I'm not starting off with that being my main goal. Making playoffs will be our first goal, and once we make playoffs, then we will worry about winning the league," he stated.

Tancowny added, he anticipates about 50 athletes to attend camp, and says that mostly all of the roster spots are open.

Camp registration will run from 4:30-5:00pm, which will be followed by the first ice session at 5:15pm, all taking place at the Fairview West Arena.
