Highspeed action between Hurricanes and Lions from last nights game

The K-Motel Midget Hurricanes beat Lumsden/Bethune 4-3 to take the league semi-final in three games, and advance to the final against Weyburn. Like their last clincher, the Hurricanes got a big late goal to win... this time, Hayden Johnston got the marker with 4:30 left. He said after that goal, it was all defense, “There's still four minutes left after we got the lead and still needed to play defense to get the win.”

Coach Tim Tisdale felt they controlled the game for the most part, “I thought for the most part we played pretty good, little break down in the third where our goalie came and made some big saves when we needed it. Then Hayden scored the big goal to win it.”

Jayden Roosen, Dalton Menke and Brayden Karmazinuk also scored for Swift Current

The top-ranked Hurricanes will face fifth-ranked Weyburn in the best-of-three league final... the Hurricanes won both regular season meetings.

Game one is Monday at 7:15 from the Fairview Arenas.
