Having earned points in five of their last seven games, the K-Motel Midget 'AA' Hurricanes were on a bit of a roll heading into a pair of weekend games at home.

However, that built up momentum disappeared quickly Saturday night when they Hurricanes welcomed the Regina Rangers.

Midway through the first period, the Rangers fired home three goals in a span of just 4:22 to take control of the game early on.

Regina then added to their lead just under two minutes into the second, making the score 4-0.

Exactly four minutes into the middle frame, Braden Levac put the Hurricanes on the board, however Regina responded just 21 seconds later to re-build their four goal lead, going up 5-1.

Swift Current would not wave the white flag though, as back-to-goals from Rhett Carlson and Josh Anderson trimmed the Rangers' lead to 5-3.

Once again though, despite the Hurricanes' efforts, Regina would quickly regain control.

38 seconds after Anderson's goal cut the lead to two, the Rangers scored again to make the score 6-3, before adding another goal 28 seconds later to enter the second intermission up 7-3.

Regina extended the lead to 8-3 before a pair of late power play goals by Tristen Sulz rounded out the scoring, as the game finished 8-5.

Then, looking to bounce back on Sunday, the Hurricanes hosted the Regina Capitals.

However, despite their five goal performance on Saturday, the Hurricanes were unable to generate much offense on Sunday.

The Hurricanes were only able to generate 13 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss.
