The K-Motel Midget Hurricanes skated to a 3-3 tie against Estevan on Friday, and dropped a 4-2 decision to the Regina Capitals on Saturday.

Dom Vallee had a pair of goals on Friday and Connor Kennedy scored the other as the Hurricanes led 3-1 in the second, but the Bruins came back to knot it up.

"We got lazy, and sometimes when you deal with teenagers and young kids, they don't put the pedal to the metal the whole time," said Hurricanes Assistant Coach Scott Cassidy after Friday's game. "Estevan came back and played a good road game, and tied it up."

The Hurricanes ran into penalty trouble late in the game when they were given a five-minute major for high sticking, but they shut down an extended Bruins power play to preserve the tie, largely thanks to some spectacular saves by goaltender Logan Tisdale.

"That's the reason he was the goalie, he played here last year in this league and he's one of the better ones here," Cassidy added. "Those diving, desperation saves are something he's good at, and he really saved us tonight. He's the reason we have a tie."

Saturday, Darby Crozier and Thomas Hammerton scored for the Hurricanes, who fell behind 3-0 on three quick goals late in the second period. Goalie Blade Roh made 14 saves in two periods of action before Tisdale took over in the third.

"Third game in four night, our boys were tired," Cassidy said after Saturday's game. "We never had a good showing for the whole game... It's been a long weekend. We'll be better next time."

The Hurricanes have the next week off until their next game on November 3 when they host Weyburn in a re-match of last season's league final.
