Rich Bissonette with Swift Current Minor Hockey presents the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League Midget AA First Place trophy to Hurricanes Captain Jayden Roosen before Thursday's game at the Fairview Arenas.

The K-Motel Midget Hurricanes wrapped up the regular season with a 4-2 win over the Regina Flames at home Thursday night, on the strength of a hat trick from Dalton Menke.

After finishing with a 29-3-4 record, the Hurricanes finished with the best regular season record in the league for the first time in team history, and face the Notre Dame Argos in the first round of playoffs. Game one is Sunday night at 8:00pm from the Fairview Arenas.

In other minor hockey, the season ended for the Diamond Energy Female Midget Wildcats, after they dropped a 10-0 decision to the Saskatoon Stars, who swept the Wildcats in three straight games.

The Gull Lake Pee Wee Greyhounds beat Shaunavon 5-2 in their league semi-final, and will take on either Kincaid or Ponteix in the league final.
