Swift Current Broncos goalie Logan Flodell has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Week.

Flodell shone in his two starts last week, starting off 45 of 47 shots in a 6-2 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex on Tuesday, October 10.

The Regina product managed to one-up the performance, stopping all 38 shots on Friday in a 1-0 home win against the Vancouver Giants.

Flodell has adapted to a change of scenery well to start the season, as he's gone 7-0 with a 2.00 GAA and .940 save percentage since a preseason trade sent him to Swift Current from the Saskatoon Blades.

"He's come as advertised so far," said Broncos head coach and Director of Player Personnel, Manny Viveiros. "He's been very, very good for us - not only on-ice, but more importantly in our room."

The 20-year-old becomes the second Broncos player to receive league-wide recognition for his on-ice efforts, joining Tyler Steenbergen, who was named the WHL Player of the Week earlier this month.

Flodell now becomes the WHL nominee for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week.

He and the Broncos look to bounce back from their first loss of the season in Saturday's contest against the Edmonton Oil Kings, as they head to Lethbridge for a Friday night meeting with the Hurricanes.

"They're such a great group of guys in the room - I'm so honoured to be here," said the Broncos starting netminder. "We have such a great hockey team, we just have to keep going."
