(Relly Mercurio makes his Indians debut tonight)
There will be a big new presence at first base for the Swift Current Indians.
6'5, 235lbs first baseman Relly Mercurio joins the WMBL club for tonight's home game against Saskatoon. Tribe Coach Joe Carnahan says the Texas Christian University player will be a good addition to their line-up.
Mercurio ony played 8 games and hit .250 during the last college season. He was a three-time all-district performer in high school and was named a preseason All-American prior to his senior year.
The Indians and Yellow Jackets have split their season series so far. Game time tonight is 7:05 at Mitchell Field.
