Perhaps inspired by all the minor baseball teams in attendance, the Swift Current Indians bats came alive in a 14-3 win over Yorkton last night.

On Minor Baseball Night, all five local products on the team got into the game as the Tribe put up 6 runs in the first and never looked back.

Swift Current's Taylor MacDonnell got the win in relief.

Starter Eric Huson pitched four shut out innings, but left the game with a soar shoulder.

DH Brent Lawrence broke out of a season long slump going 3 for 3 with a run scored and an RBI.

"Felt great" said Lawrence, " Got the monkey off the back. After the first hit, it was kind of a little blooper but that's all you need sometimes."

Tanner Morach went 4 for 6 and twelve different Indians had hits.

"We have to stay with the same approach." said Indians Head Coach Joe Carnahan "Win or lose, once you leave you leave the field, it's a new day tomorrow, so you forget about today and then tomorrow you get right back to work, take the same approach, and do the same things"

The re-match between the Cardinals and Indians goes tonight at Mitchell Field. First pitch is at 7:05.
